Shri Narasimha Saraswati Swami Dattadeva Temple Maharashtra

Located in Narsimhawadi, right at the confluence of the rivers Krishna and Panchganga, Shri Narasimha Saraswati Swami Dattadeva Temple is a must visit on a trip to Maharashtra. Shri Narasimha Saraswati Swami Dattadeva Temple remains brimming with tourists throughout the year. The main deity of the temple is Shree Dattatreya, who is considered as an incarnation of Trimurti - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. According to locals, Sri Nrusimha Saraswati, the incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, visited the Panchaganga Sagar, which was then the meeting point of five rivers Siva, Bhadra, Kumbhi, Bhogawati, and Saraswati.

As per the legends...

According to locals, Sri Nrusimha Saraswati stayed at Amarapur for 12 years and during that time he performed many miracles. One can see the mention of his stay in Amarapur in the ‘Guru Charitra’. Some locals even say that Shri Dattatreya also visited the temple and evidence of the same is the holy ‘padukas’ (slippers) situated below an Umber tree.

The daily routine of the temple begins at 04:30 in the morning with divine 'kakad aarti.' A palanquin is carried out of the temple on every Saturday and full moon night. During the festivals like Gurudwadashi, Dattajayanti, Shree Nrusimha Saraswati Jayanti (for seven days) and Shree Krishna Veni Utsav the temple gets decked up and looks at its best.
