Most of the district of Dagana is enveloped by dense forests, and its lushness can be attributed to almost 80% of it being enveloped by forest cover. It gets its name from Daga Trashiyangtse Dzong, a historical landmark which functions as a district administration today. During your trip to Bhutan, visit Dagana to explore the three stone megaliths: Sky Pillar Rock, Rock of Ancient Steps and The Frontier Sky Fortress. Other attractions of Dagana are its two monasteries, Shathong Lhakhang and Nyindukha Lhakhang. It also hosts the famous Tshechu festival.

How to Reach Dagana?

The beautiful and remote Dagana enjoy decent road connectivity with Thimphu via Babesa-Thimphu Expressway, and Thimphu-Punakha-Wangdue Phodrang-Tsirang Highway. The duration of the journey between Thimphu and Dagana is long, however, it is a comfortable drive.
