Thimphu Tshechu Festival Package 2021

Have you been planning to visit Bhutan any time soon? If yes, there can be no better time than planning a trip during the festivals. One such festival is Thimphu Tshechu where you will get to witness the rich culture and tradition of Bhutan at its best. Our 5N/6D Thimphu Tshechu Tour Package will let you explore the three-day festival celebrated to commemorate and honor Guru Rinpoche also Guru Padmasambhava who brought Buddhism to Bhutan. The festival is held at Tashichoe Dzong which is preceded by prayers and rituals to the deities. On being here, you will get the opportunity to witness the sacred Mask or Cham Dance performed by the monks wearing grand silk robes and exquisitely crafted mask.

Our Thimphu Tshechu Package will not limit you to the festival but will also take you to explore the important tourist attractions of Thimphu and sightseeing tour of Punakha/Wangdue and Paro. On your trip, you will be witnessing Memorial Chorten, Dochu-La-Pass, Punakha Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang, Ta Dzong, and Rinpung Dzong. Your tour will come to an end with a sightseeing tour in Paro where you will visit the much-celebrated Tiger’s Nest Monastery and other two monasteries, Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Monastery.

Festival Dates: 26 – 28 September 2021

Day 1: Paro Airport – Thimphu (26 Sep)

Upon arrival at the Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our tour representative who will drive you to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. En route, witness the unique Bhutanese architecture and Bhutanese lifestyle with many people wearing traditional clothes ‘Gho’ men wear and “Kira” women wear. After a drive of approx 50 km, you will reach Thimphu where you will check-in at the pre-booked hotel.

The afternoon will be for exploring the tourist attractions of Thimphu. We will proceed to visit Memorial Chorten, a stupa build in the memory of our late 3rd King. Further, we will proceed to the Buddha viewpoint and Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue). Later, we will head to visit another point of interest Tashichho Dzong.

Once done with the day exploration, head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Thimphu Tshechu Sightseeing (27 Sep)

After having breakfast, we will head to witness the sacred Masked Dance, the highlight of the Thimphu Tshechu tour at Tashichoe Dzong. On being here, you will witness the locals dressed in their finest outfit gathering at the dzong. Along with the locals even you can choose to wear the national dress with intricate patterns and vibrant colors.

Once done with exploring the Thimphu Tshechu at its best, head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha/Wangdue Sightseeing (28 Sep)

This morning, post-breakfast we will drive to Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang. En route, we will stop at Dochu-La-Pass to witness the breathtaking views of the higher Himalayas. Upon arriving at Punakha, check-in at the hotel.

Afternoon we will head to visit Punakha Dzong, the second-oldest and second-largest dzongs of Bhutan. Later, indulge in a short and easy hike up to Chhimi Lhakhang, also known as ‘The Temple of Fertility.’ The evening will be free for leisure.

Overnight stay at Punakha / Wangdue.

Day 4: Punakha/Wangdue – Paro Sightseeing (29 Sep)

Post-breakfast, we will drive to Paro. En route, we will stop at Lamperi to visit Royal Botanical Park. Upon arriving at Paro, check-in at the hotel and relax for a while. In the afternoon will head to visit Ta Dzong – National Museum and Rinpung Dzong.

The evening will be free for leisure and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Paro.

Day 5: Paro Sightseeing (30 Sep)

This morning, after having breakfast we will hike to the Taktsang Monastery popularly known as ‘Tiger’s Nest Monastery.‘ The hike up to the monastery from the base takes around 3-4 hours. The steep trail brings you close to the lush green diverse forest and Buddhist prayer flags which is no less than a feast to the eyes. Later, we will head to visit Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Monastery, the other two important places to visit in Paro.

Head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Paro Airport (01 Oct)

Post-breakfast, you will be transferred to the Paro International Airport to catch the flight for your onward journey.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at a camp in Tingtibi.
