Apart from visiting the tourist spots in the area you can also visit nearby places such as Kalamati, an orchid and butterfly habitat, Jogighopa and Pancharatna. Also, when you are in the area, you should try the variety of local cuisines, some of which are seasonal, such as Pitha, while others like Panta bhat, and a drink called Apo are available most of the times.

The weather condition remains too uncomfortable during the summer time, in this region, and thus one should avoid late summer. Also, during the monsoon season it is difficult to reach to this area and travel around due to rain. The best time for a visit in the Bhumeswar Hills is between winter and spring, as the weather remains on the colder side, making it easier to travel.
