North Assam has a lot to contribute in terms of history, natural beauty and culture. This magnificent region comprises of Udalguri, Darrang, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Tezpur. Where Tezpur is reckoned as the Culture Capital of Assam, Darrang and Udalguri are home to Manas National Park. In fact, the region is quite rich in wildlife and also houses Nameri National Park, Orang National Park, Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.

The region of North Assam also has some interesting historical sites at Bamuni Hills and Da Parbatia that date back to 8th-9th century and 4th century AD respectively. Other important attractions of Tezpur are Hazara Pukhuri, Mahabhairab Temple, Agnigarh, Bhomoraguri and Chirlekha Udyan. Darrang on the other side is home to pretty lakes like Bhairabkund and historical sites like Shahid Minar of Patharughat. For nature lovers, there is plenty to see in Sonitpur. Adorned with pristine nature’s beauty, Sonitpur is also ideal for trekkers whose favourite place is Ouguri Hill. Apart from it, the Bura Chapori Wildlife Sanctuary on the bank of River Brahmaputra is quite attractive as well.
