In the midst of composite and tranquil environment, Bon Monastery or Bon Yung Dung Monastery is located in Kewzing offering a splendid view of the hills and valleys of southern Sikkim. It is a must visit place as it is the only monastery in Sikkim belonging to the Bon Sect. In fact, there are only two Bon Monasteries in India; one existing in Kewzing, Sikkim and the other in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. This monastery was first established in 1980 by late Yung Dung Tsultrim and it also facilitates an institution offering Bon teachings to young students mostly belonging to less privileged families. Inside the premises of this famous monastery you can witness the many items displayed, there are a number of fascinating paintings of Bon Demonical Buddha and Bon Deity.

Getting there :

You can reach this monastery via taxi from all the major towns in Sikkim. It is located 3.2 kilometres from the main town of Kewzing and 80 kilometres from the capital, Gangtok.
