The museum of Actor Chandrakant Mandare known as the Chandrakant Mandare Art Gallery is of prime interest. The art gallery is located at Rajarampuri in Kohlapur and is one of the chief tourist spots of this city. The museum is actually the bungalow of the Marathi Actor Chandrakant Mandare, and the gallery now displays the various antique pieces left behind, made, and collected by the actor who was an art enthusiast. The visitors can see the stills from Mandare’s movies, his sketches and paintings. This art gallery is located within the residential premises of the Mandare’s family at Nisarga Bungalow which stands at the 7th Lane Rajarampuri in Kolhapur city of Maharashtra. Mandare has donated this art gallery to the Archaeological Department and is under the authorization of Government of Maharashtra. This boutique art gallery is a very popular tourist attraction in the city.

History

Chandrakant Mandare was a celebrated and renowned figure in the world of Marathi films. But though he was a well known actor, he was also greatly known to have been a prolific artist who had devoted his entire life to the value of art. He was excellent in paintings. The gallery that he created at his Nisarga Bungalow is now taken care of by the Government of Maharashtra, and is now the famous Art Gallery of Kohlapur.
