Sree Ayyappa Temple is situated at Anachal, 15 km from Munnar. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. The six day annual festival commences with the ceremonial hoisting of the temple flag (Kodiyettam).
Old Munnar is known for housing some of the old structures relished by visitors and this church is among them only.
Proposed for consideration as World Heritage Site, the national park presents a flush ground for growth of flora and flourish of fauna at above 2000 m.
