Undoubtedly it's the captivating nature that mesmerizes the tourists the most in Karjat, but along with it, there are some caves where one can go caving to unveil some hidden secrets of the past. When in comes to caving, the best one has to be the Bahiri Caves. Situated along the Bhor Ghat, overlooking the Ulhas Valley, the cave is tad beautiful and even hard to reach. Tourists will have to climb a long wall to reach the cave, and that's perhaps the best part of the visit. From the caves, the view of the magnificent crests of Sahyadri and lovely twin posts of Rajmachi, Shrivardhan and Manaranjan is drop-dead gorgeous and easy on eyes. Inside the cave, there's a small temple and water cistern.
Getting There
Reaching the Bahiri Caves is not at all an easy task, one has to walk and even climb to reach from Sandshi, which happens to be the base of the mountain on which the cave is located.
