Located about 9 kilometres from the district headquarters of Zunheboto, Ghosu Bird Sanctuary houses a wide range of avifauna. It is a home to many species and hosts more than 20 endangered bird species within the sanctuary’s boundaries. Few of the commonly spotted birds of Ghosu Bird Sanctuary are little Bunting, Cuckoo, Himalayan Black Bulbul, Grey-Hooded Warbler, Oriental Magpie Robin, Great-Eared Nightjar and much more. Many orinthologists and bird lovers visit this tourist attraction every year.

Apart from visiting the Ghosu Bird Sanctuary for watching the avifauna, another popular practise is to visit the spot during the months of June to September to watch a large number of migratory birds flock here. Getting There 

You can avail rental cars and state run buses to reach Zunheboto and then from here, take a local transport to reach the bird sanctuary which is 9 kms from the main town.

Best Time to Visit

Ghosu Bird sanctuary is a site to revel in especially during the months of January to May. Tourism during these months has been in the best phase because of the perfect weather conditions in Zunheboto.
