Palaruvi Waterfall is one of Kerela's most beautiful waterfalls, which makes its way down from a height of 300 feet, through the dense tropical forest of Kollam. It is also referred as white horse's tail because it narrows at the top and widens at the bottom just like a horse's tail. This beautiful stream of milk, as it is called, forms a small pool at the bottom of the waterfall, allowing visitors to take a bath in the medicinal water of the stream. The term Palaruvi, literally means "Stream of Milk" in Malayalam and forms a stunning backdrop of a milk-white burst of foam, the sound of which resounds through the otherwise peaceful virgin forests of Kollam. This amazing destination in Kerala is surrounded by lush green valleys and natural herbal groves, which apparently makes this waterfall, rich in medicinal properties.
The journey to this beautiful attraction of Kerala passes through the dense tropical forests, which has a plethora of colorful plants and lush green valleys. Buses and taxis are easily available from nearby cities like Thiruvananthapuram, and Kollam to reach here. It is one of the most impressive and easily accessible waterfalls in Kerala and the nearest railway station and International airport from here, lies only some kilometers away.
