Celebrated in Stongdey Monastery, Stongdey Gustor is indeed an important festival in Ladakh. It is a two-day festival that takes place in the 11th month of Tibetan Calendar. The major attraction of Stongdey Gustor Festival is the Cham dance performance by the Buddhist monks.

Stongdey is the second largest monastic institution in Zanskar Region and is situated around 18 km from Padum. It is an 11th century monastery that comes to life during this religious festival with people from different villages coming in for the celebration.
