Thommankuthu is a famous seven-step waterfall, known for its picturesque settings and amazing lush green jungles that offers plenty of scope for adventure tourism in Idukki. Located approximately 17 km from Thodupuzha in Idukki district of Kerala, this majestic fall is one of the most popular attractions in Munnar, surrounded by rich dense forests and tea plantation. Some people believe that Thommankuthu waterfall is named after a tribal leader 'Thomman', who fell into the speeding water of the falls while crossing the river. The waterfall has a height of around 1500 meters and there is a pool at the bottom of the fall, which gives a very unique feel to the place.
