Gurudwara Shergarh Sahib, Paonta Sahib

Address: Court Road, Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh 173025

Gurudwara Shergarh Sahib is a symbol of courage and valor. It was built in the honor of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of Sikhism who beheaded a man-eating tiger. Gurudwara Shergarh Sahib is situated in Simour district, which is only 12 km away from the Paonta Sahib Gurudwara.

As the story goes, one day when Guru Gobind Singh was in Simour, he decides to meet the Raja Medini Parkash; the Raja of Nahan and Raja Fateh Shah; the Raja of Garhwal., when a villager requested them to save the lives of villagers from the man-eater lion. Then Guru Gobind Singh ji cut the head of the man eater lion (Babar Sher) with the single stroke of the sword and thus was greatly appreciated. Gurudwara is built to remember the great act of Guru ji.
