How To Reach Tezpur

Tezpur is a town located northeast of Guwahati approximately 180 km away and enjoys good connectivity with all the major places of Assam and other states too. It takes only 4 hours to reach Tezpur by road from Guwahati. Besides this, Tezpur is 65 km from the Orang Wildlife Sanctuary, 82 km from Kaziranga, and 60 km from Bhalukpung.

By Air:

At approximately 15 km away from Tezpur, you’ll find the nearest airport at Sonitpur district called the “Saloni Airport”. There are several flights that connect Saloni Airport to Guwahati, Jorhat and Kolkata. There are flights, in and out, from Sonitpur to Guwahati on a daily basis; and 3 flights per week to Kolkata and Jorhat. You can connect to these cities and reach Sonitpur by flight, after which it is an easy journey to reach Tezpur by cabs or buses.

By Rail:

Tezpur has been connected with a railway station called Rangapara North Railway Station. There are several local trains and express trains that ferry through this railway station on a regular basis. You can even avail trains from Guwahati to reach the cultural city of Assam.

By Road:

The roads of Tezpur are well-connected to main cities like Guswahati, Itanagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sibsagar, Siliguri and many more. There are several buses, both private and state run, which offer transportation services from the main cities of Assam and West Bengal to Tezpur. For local transportation, you can avail shuttle cars, auto-rickshaws, buses that ply on road for hire.
