Shaikhon ki Masjid is situated in Kota district of Rajasthan. The masjid was constructed during the Mughal rule in India.
It is ancient building which is located on the southern side of the town called Shaihon ka Mahalla, in the southern side of Ek Minar ki Masjid. The masjid has small prayer hall of measurement 4.5 X 7 meters. The prayer hall opens into a courtyard which is located on the eastern side. The walls of the mosque were constructed using large blocks of stones. The stones are equally cut and laid down with the help of a mortar. On top of a singe mihrab, an inscription is engraved. However, layers of white washing have made it hard to see. The inscriptions carved on the walls are dated back to 15th or 16th century.
Earlier the masjid was a trabeated building which was later renovated and the roof was built with modern materials. Two columns which supported the centre of the prayer hall have been removed. At the back of the wall, there were two pilasters which were expanded to form rectangular piers. The columns present in the external hall have also been expanded. All single mihrabs of the qibla walls are adorned with arched recess that is rectangular in shape. There is an ogee arch which is decorated with rosettes I the spandrels. On either side of the mihrabs, a small niche is present to keep oil lamps. The mihrab is decorated with an arch.
In the northern and southern bays of the qibla walls, a bigger niche is present. On the site walls of the prayer hall are present four rectangular niches, two of which are located on the southern side and two on the northern side. The minar is built in modern style and comprises of three stone steps. The masjid has been renovated and restored but keeping the original layout in form. The arches of the four mihrabs centered in the mosque have other niches that resembles to that of those in the Mughal and Suri buildings.
