Khanzadon Ki Masjid Bari Khatu

The location of this mosque in Nagaur is what makes it special . There is a beautiful fort atop the hill in Bari Khatu and the Khanzadon ki Masjid is located inside this fort. A famous monument of Rajasthan, this mosque attracts tourists from near and far.

Two epigraphs were found inside this mosque and according to that, this mosque was constructed in 1482 AD. It was constructed during the reign of Majlis-i-Firoz Khan by Malikul-Umara Tajud-Dualla Waddin Malik Ladla Khalas. Majlis-i-Firoz Khan is the son of Sala Khan.

The mosque showcases a beautiful architecture which is simple yet beautiful.

Getting There

Nagaur is a well-connected city by means of buses and train. There are few buses that connects the Nagaur Bus Stand to Bari Khatu. However, it is best to make your own arrangements for travelling within the city.

By air: It lies between Bikaner and Jodhpur, Jodhpur being the nearest airport. The distance between the two is 135 km.

By train: Nagaur is well connected to cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Delhi with frequent trains.

By road: Both state and private buses connect Nagaur with cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Delhi.

One of the major attractions of Bari Khatu is the beautiful Om Ashram. Built following the Vedic traditions, this is a peaceful and serene place to be.

Being a part of Nagaur, the Nagaur Fort is one place that you cannot miss—a perfect blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture, this place is beautiful with 90 fountains running in and around the complex. It underwent major renovation recently and attracts foreign tourists as well.

Ladnun is another tourist attraction of Nagaur. It is a historical city with century old Jain temples. Try visiting Chhota Katu that too has small fort on top of hillock. Chhota Katu also has a very old step well, that is beautiful and goes by the name Phool Bawadi.

Try and visit during winter as the temperature is pleasant during this time. Summers are intolerable.
