Bara Pather is a famous temple in Dalhousie that attracts a lot of visitors everyday. It is located amidst the quiet and pristine surroundings of Chamba Valley and is dedicated to Bhulwani Mata. The tourists love visiting this place for its excellent views of the snow-clad Himalayas and the pleasant weather that makes the environment cool and comfortable. Bara Pather is only 4 km away from Dalhousie, and is on the way to Kalatop. Though the scenic beauty of this place is worth a visit, many tourists come here only to visit the Bhulwani Mata's temple, which is positioned in the village of Ahla amid the thick forests.

Important Facts The Bara Pather is also a good place for trekking and a nice spot to experience the scent of cool breeze during the hot summer days. It is located at the foothills of the Dayan Kund Peak, which is another great mountain range in the Himalayan region. The Bhulwani Mata Temple organize a fair every year in July to venerate the goddess with festivities. The temple lie on the way between the Kalatop Sanctuary and the Dalhousie Municipal limits and has potato farm, where tourists can see how potatoes are grown and harvested.

This temple is believed to be 150 years old, and so, it attracts a lot of tourists, who celebrate the festivities organized by the local people during the annual fair in July. During this fair, an idol of Bhulwani Mata is bought to Bara Pather to celebrate the welcoming of goddess in the village. The best time to visit the Bara Pather is in July as the visitors can attend the fair and take part in the celebration, but if one is interested to see the winter, then plan your visit in the months between October and February.
