Information About Arvalem Waterfalls of North Goa

There are some places which are best visited during monsoons, and Arvalem Waterfalls is one of them. Cascading from an impressive height of almost 100 feet, it’s a sight to be reckoned with.

The intensity with which the water crashes into the lake below, is a sight that remains etched in your memory for a long time. What is especially enjoyable is the fact that you are able to enjoy viewing the waterfall from a very close distance, thanks to the walkway with secured railings that takes you quite near to it.

On your way to the waterfall, you will first come across a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here, he is shown in the Rudeshwar incarnation. There are stone steps leading to this temple, located on one side of the waterfall.

At a little distance, there is a cluster of Buddihst caves, which are said to be almost 1300 years old. These shed light on the rich heritage & culture of Goa. While some believe that these caves served as the hideout for the Pandavas during their exile, others believe that they were carved by Buddhist monks.
