One of the most important museums in Goa, the Archaeological Museum is located at the back of the famous church of St Francis of Assisi. The museum has eight galleries that display a wide range of collection of beautiful artefacts of the Portuguese rule in India. The major attractions of the Archaeological Museum of Goa are the portraits of the former viceroys and governors of Goa. The museum also boasts a large collection of stamps and religious artefacts.
