Located
in the Uttar Kannada district in the State of Karnataka,110 km from
Panjim ( Goa ) Dandeli abounds in a richness of flora and fauna.
Its richness and diversity offers ample opportunities to nature
lovers to enjoy the captivating landscape. The sanctuary is generally
undulating with steep slopes with picturesque deep river valleys
and rich hilly forest terrain. The forest with its spurs of the
western ghats, the breath taking valleys, regal looking meandering.

BEST SEASON TO VISIT
Park is closed from June to October. The best time to visit
is from December to May.
ANIMALS AND BIRDS SIGHTED
Indian bison, wild dogs, barking deers, common langur, flying
squirrel and macaques. If again you are lucky wolves may catch your
eye and so will the elephants. A variety of birds are also inhabitanats
of the reserve.
Sight crocodiles basking in the sun and flocks of beautiful waterbirds
as you float down the River Kali in a coracle.
LOCATION
It is situated on the banks of River Kali, amidst the thickly
forested and hilly areas of Uttara Kannada District, and the camp
is close to Goa at a distance of 125 km from Goa. Karwar is at a
distance of 117 km from and Belgaum at 95 km,. Bangalore is around
400 kilometres from this nature reserve.
ACCESS
You can take a day trip from Dharwar or Hubli but Dandeli town
is the best place to base oneself.
