Being a prominent tourist destination in Tamil Nadu, the town of Theni is easily accessible by all means of transport - air, rail, and road. However, the best way to reach Theni is airways for those travelling from far away destinations. On the other hand, railway also serves as the good option to reach here from the neighbouring states and cities.

By Air

The nearest airport from Theni is Madurai Airport which is situated at distance of 87 km. Once you reach the airport, you can board a taxi from there to reach Theni.

By Rail

Theni is easily accessible by the railways as it has its own railway station which connects the town with all the important towns and cities of the state. However, for those travelling from other states, Madurai and Dindigul are the major railway junctions in the close proximity to the town that are located at distance of 74 km and 76 km respectively. In order to reach from the stations to Theni, one can board a local bus or a taxi.

The town is well -connected with the various cities like Madurai, Dindigul, Tirunelveli, and Tiruchirappalli through roads and national highways. Both local and private Tamil Nadu state buses are available from these cities to Theni.
