How to reach Nubra Valley?

Nubra Valley does not have its own airport or railway station. The best way, and the only way of reaching Nubra Valley from Leh is by road. There are three road routes which one can follow to reach Nubra Valley, and all of them offer lovely sightseeing options.

Nubra Valley Travel Information

Nubra Valley can be easily reached from Leh City. It is at a distance of about 150 kms from Leh and can only be reached by road via world’s highest motorable pass, Khardung La. The best way of reaching Nubra Valley by air, rail & road is described below.

By Air

The nearest airport to Nubra Valley is the Leh Airport, also known as Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, located at a distance of almost 150 kilometers.

Jammu Tawi Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Nubra Valley, located at a distance of about 840 kilometers.

By Road

To reach Nubra Valley, you must first reach Leh via the National Highway (NH 1), which connects Srinagar to Leh, or the Manali-Leh Highway, which is full of twists and bends, and dotted with several high altitude mountain passes.

There are 3 routes which you can take to reach Nubra Valley. The first one is Leh-Nubra Valley via Khardung La, second route is Leh to Nubra Valley via Wari La & the third route is Leh-Nubra Valley via Agham Shyok Road.
