How to Reach Kargil?

Kargil does not have its own airport, with the nearest one located in Srinagar. It is connected to Leh & Srinagar via the National Highway (NH) 1, which is also the most preferred route for travellers. Travelling to Kargil via road is both exciting & adventurous.

Jammu Tawi Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Kargil, located at a distance of about 440 kilometers.


By Road

National Highway (NH) 1, which connects Srinagar to Leh, cuts through the Kargil route. This road is open for travellers from March till June. The road between Kargil and Drass, is open throughout the year.
