Permits are an official travel document issued by the Government of India for your identification while entering a restricted area. There are basically two kinds of official permits - Inner Line Permit and Protected Area Permit. For an Indian traveller, you are ought to avail an (ILP) Inner Line Permit before visiting Arunachal Pradesh as this place falls under restricted area. All the domestic tourists are to obtain Inner Line Permit for your safekeeping.
With the ILP in hand, you can enter the state through any of the check gates. This permit will be your guide throughout your journey and it is valid for 15 days only. However, it can be extended from any tourism or government offices (Resident Commissioner). Documents and ID’s needed for filling the form (Offline):
2 Passport size photographs
Photocopy of one identity proof (Pan Card/Aadhaar Card/Voter ID)
After filling and duly signing the form enclosed with id proof and passport size photographs, it can be submitted in the tourism office with the required payment to obtain the permit.

Once the form is filled and submitted, an Application ID is generated that will redirect to a page to upload the photo(s) and document for verification.
An SMS alert with your application number shall be sent to the registered mobile number of the applicant.
Use the Application ID to make the online payment and print the ILP card.
On successful verification and online payment an ILP code will be generated that shall serve like the PNR number in flight and railway ticket.
