It
is located at an altitude of 1371.60 metres above sea-level at
a distance of 269 kms from Kohima via Wokha and Mokokchung and
235 kms via Zunheboto.It is connected by the State Highway. Nagaland
State Transport buses ply on this route regularly.

It is the homeland of the Changs, Yimchungers, Khiamungans, Sangtams,
Semas and Phoms. These tribes have a rich cultural heritage and
their dresses are very colourful. Their dances and songs are heart
warming.
This area is known for its handicrafts and handloom products.
Longtrok
Six stones - is located at Chungliyimti 57 kms from Tuensang.
According to Ao legends and beliefs, the first of the Ao ancestors
had emerged from Longtrok. This spot also offers a beautiful view
of the towns on hilltops scattered over the distant horizon.
Kiphire
It is situated at an altitude of 896.42 metres above sea-level
at a distance of 254 kms from Kohima. It is the home of the Sangtams,
Yimchungers and Semas and Phoms.
Saramati
3841 metres above sea-level,the highest peak in Nagaland, is situated
in this division. It remains snowcapped throughout Winter.
Pungro
The Circle headquarters is only 36 kms from Kiphire. From
here it takes two days of trekking to reach Saramati peak, a part
of which falls in Myanmar (Burma).
