How to Reach Vellore

By Air

The nearest airport from Vellore is the Tirupati International Airport which connects the place with other major cities of the country through daily frequent flights. One can cover rest of the distance, which is just 113 km, by boarding a cab/taxi from the airport to Vellore. Tamil Nadu state buses are also available from the airport to the city. Airports at Chennai and Puducherry are also quite close to Vellore.

By Rail

Vellore has its own railway station which gives a hassle-free way to reach Vellore from major cities like, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru along with other important cities of India.

By Road

Tamil Nadu state buses, both government and private, run on a regular interval from the major southern cities like Bengaluru, Tirupati, Chennai, Pondicherry, and Tiruchirapalli. These buses, through the road network, give you the access to Vellore. However, one can also choose to travel by their own vehicle through roads and national highways, which connect these cities with Vellore. The National Highways connecting Vellore with other important cities are NH 40, 48, 77, and 38.
