Spinal Fusion Surgery in India

At every level in the spine, there is a disc space in the front and also paired facet joints in the back. Spinal fusion at level one means that two vertebral segments need to be fused together. This helps in motion segment and even permits several degrees of motion.

A typical spine fusion surgery involves the use of a bone graft that causes two vertebral bodies to help grow together that form into a long bone. Bone graft is collected from a patient’s hip and then it is used in spine fusion surgery.

There are several types of spinal fusions, depending upon the levels of the fuse and the bone graft that you choose. The several spinal fusions and many surgical approaches are taken from the back, the front, both back and front and also from the side.

Bone graft can be added to one level segment of the spine or multiple segments. Bone fusion helps in the formation of one fixed bone that replace the mobile joint and even stops the motion of the joint segment that may be resulting in pain.
