Dental Implants in India

A dental implant is a kind of a frame used to support an artificial tooth or provide a framework for dental crown, bridge, facial prosthesis or denture. It is a surgical implant that restores the natural look and feel of the lost tooth by fitting in the void perfectly.

A dental surgeon surgically fits a tooth implant into the jawbone of the patient. Thus, the implant is fixed beneath the gums, unlike dentures, that can be removed and placed. The implant fuses with the jawbone perfectly and thus provides a support to the artificial teeth.

In order to undergo dental implant surgery, patients must first have a rigid bone support and healthy gums. Following the surgery, the patients must visit the dentist regularly and maintain proper oral hygiene to ensure long life of the implant.

Typically, dental implant cost is more than other alternative methods for tooth replacement. The tooth implant cost also depends on the type of implant being used. The two most common types of dental implants include endosteal implants and subperiosteal implants.
