How to Reach Pondicherry by Train?

Pondicherry is connected to major of cities India by train. The Pondicherry Railway Station operates trains to several major cities like Chennai, Villupuram and Tirupati. Tri-weekly trains connect Pondicherry to Mumbai and Bangalore. Of these, the Pondicherry Express and Yesvantpur Pondicherry Garib Rath Express, which run from Bengaluru, are very famous among travellers. If you are visiting Pondicherry from Mumbai, your best bet would be the Chalukya Express. Besides these, there is also a weekly train which connects Pondicherry to the cities of Kolkata, Mangalore, New Delhi and Kanyakumari. From the station, you can hire taxis and private vehicles to take you to various parts of the city.
