Jawhar is a city located in the Palghar district of the state of Maharashtra. It is one of the travel places in the state that has a rich cultural heritage, and is also one of the tribal regions. The Dabosa waterfall is an important part of sightseeing in Jawhar which is located about a distance of 18kms from the city. Another must see tourism sight of the city is the Hanuman Point from where you can witness the amazing view the Shahapur Maholi Fort. There is an old temple of Maruti in this location which is called as the Katya Maruti. The view of the Kasara Ghat from this point also offers a beautiful sight to the tourists. A popular historic attraction of the city is the Jaivilas Palace which was once the residential place of the royal family of Munke. It reflects the fine work of architecture of the ancient times and the interiors of the palace depict the lifestyles of the tribal kings. The palace is made of pink stones and has beautiful garden surrounding it. The Bhopatgad Fort is another antique site of the city which was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji. Among the other sites to be visited during your tour here comprise of the famous Khad Khad Dam, Shirpamal, Jai Sagar Dam and the Kalmandvi Waterfall.
Jawhar is a city in Maharashtra which is very well known for its beautiful Warli paintings which is a much appreciated art form of this place. The city experiences a very good climatic condition almost all through the year. However, the best time to plan vacations at this place is between the months of September and April.
