The Himalayan region witnessed its latest snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir due to two consecutive western disturbances. According to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department, these weather conditions will bring heavy snowfall in regions in and around Kashmir. The western disturbances are highly experienced during winter months which cause moderate to heavy snows in the mountains. They also play a vital role in the cultivation of Rabi crops by driving winter rains in the plain regions.
