How to Reach Chandel

By Air

Imphal Tulihal International Airport is the nearest airhead from Chandel which is located at a distance of some 55 km. For the tourists, the airport boasts an amazing connectivity which allows travellers, whether domestic or international, to easily reach the place. From the airport, one can hire a taxi to cover the rest of the distance to the town.

By Rail

The town of Chandel boasts a decent rail connectivity. Those who prefer travelling by train are supposed to board a train to Dimapur which is in Nagaland as there is no railway station in Manipur. The closest one from Chandel is in Dimapur which is located some 263 km away. Taxi services are available from the station that can take you to the destination. However, the interstate buses also ply from Dimapur to Chandel.

The town of Chandel is very well connected with Imphal through roads and National Highway 39. Buses to Imphal also runs from neighbouring cities like Dimapur (Nagaland), Kohima (Nagaland), Silchar and Jiribam. The distance between Chandel and Manipur is approximately 70 km.
