The diverse and thrilling Tadoba National Park is situated in Chandrapur district. Often called the ‘Jewel of Vidarbha’, it is the largest national park in the state of Maharashtra. Best Time to Visit:
Tropical climate makes winter season the best time to visit Tadoba National Park. However, the best season to sight tigers would be the hotter months (April to May). Post monsoon is also a good time to visit Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary when the jungle becomes lush green and is filled with flowers.
Safari Timing Chart:
Open top ‘Gypsy’ or Jeep is available for safari in Tadoba National Park. Private vehicles are also allowed, however you have to take the forest guide along. The safari timings in Tadoba Tiger Reserve are as follows:
Morning Jeep Safari Timings: 6.00 a.m to 10.00 a.m. (entry allowed until 8.00 a.m.)
Afternoon Jeep Safari Timings: 3.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m (entry allowed until 4.30 p.m.)
How to Reach:
By Air: The closest airport is at Nagpur, from where one can take a cab to Chandrapur
By Rail: The nearest railway station is at Chandrapur (49kms) and Nagpur (151kms).
By Road: There are frequent buses from Chandrapur to Mohrali Village. Also, cab/taxi facility is also available in the large number.
