City of Rajasthan". Visit the unique Jantar
Mantar Observatory, which was built in the 1700's,
yet even today still looks futuristic or almost surrealistic;

03 : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Morning sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer. It is in the heart
of the Great Indian Desert. Its temple, fort and palaces
are all built of yellow stone. The city is a mass of intricately
carved buildings, facades and elaborate balconies. See the
Patwon-Ki-Havelies, Salim-Singh-Ki-Haveli and Gadhi
Sagar Tank.

Afternoon visit the Sand Dunes and a camel ride to view
the sunset, as the sky is set on fire and Rajasthani folk
musicians play haunting tunes. It can be an unforgettable
experience.

Morning sightseeing tour of Jodhpur - gateway to the desert
beyond, home of the Rathors of Marwa. Visit the Fort, rising
up a hilly scrap, built on the advice of a hermit, which
overlooks the city in the image of a long sentinel. Inside
the Fort are a number of palaces added by successive rulers.
Also visit Mandor - the ancient capital of the State of
Marwar. The cenotaphs of the former rulers are imposing
and architecturally remarkable.

05 : Sawai Madhopur

Game viewing in the sanctuary by jeeps / canter. Ranthambore
Wildlife Sanctuary extends over an area of 392
sq kms of thick forests. The place abounds in scenic beauty,
requisite refuge for both the carnivora and herbivora. The
numerous valleys and flat hill tops form pictursque surroundings
of the 13th century historical Ranthambore Fort. The Tiger
and Leopard are the main predators found in this reserve.
Hyaena and Jackal are the scavengers, Sloth Bear and Wild
Boar are the main carnivora. The main herbivores found in
this park are spotted Deer, Sambhar Deer, Nilgai (blue bull)
antelope, Chinkara (Indian gazelle) and the commom Langur.

Later visit Chitorgarh. There is no place in Rajasthan with
a history more romantic than that of Chitorgarh. The centre
of Rajput resistance against Mughal rule. It was here that
Sisodia Rajput warriors on many occasions gave their lives
preffering death to dishonour and surrender. This city was
sacked atleast three times before it was finally abandoned
and the capital moved to Udaipur. The glory of Chitorgarh
is the Tower of Victory-Jaya Stambha erected by Rana Khumbha
to commemorate his victory over Mohammed Khilji of Malwa
in 1440. Its nine stories are covered with sculptures of
Hindu divinities.

06 : Chitorgarh - Udaipur - Bharatpur

Morning, sightseeing tour of Udaipur, stopping first at
City Palace. Here you will marvel at rooms with mirrored
walls and ivory doors, colored glass windows and inlaid
marble balconies; and the Peacock Courtyard. Also visit
the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari Gardens; the Jagdish
Temple; and the local folk museum.

07 : Bharatpur - Agra - Delhi

Visit to National Bird Sanctuary. Bharatpur
(Ghana) once the former hunting preserve of the
royal family of Bharatpur, the sanctuary is home to storks
and nearly every other kind of bird imaginable. You'll see
more than 250 different species nesting on the tops of trees
and along the roadside, as well as snakes, lizards, exotic
fish and monkeys. Lucky visitors can spot the rare Siberian
Crane that migrates to this preserve annually. Also found
are chital, black buck, deer and other varieties of animals.

Visit Fatehpur Sikri - the deserted, red
sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital
and palace in the late 16th century. It was a veritable
fairytale city and its "ruins" are still in pristine
condition ... it's not hard to imagine what the court life
must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Also visit
the Bulund Darwaza the largest gateway in the world.

Afternoon sightseeing tour of Agra city visiting the impressive
Agra Fort, and of course, the most perfect
architectural monument in the world - The Taj
Mahal.
