Dos and Don'ts in Corbett National Park

Every national park has certain practical 'rules', however formal or informal. Corbett National Park is no different. If planning a visit for the first time, it would be a good idea to become familiar with the general dos and don'ts so as to maintain its sanity and beauty. So here are some of the tips that every tourist must follow.

Dos
  • Do take the proper permits from the office before entering the Corbett National Park
  • Appoint a guide at the time of entering the forest as they will take you to all the places where you can see animals. Also, make sure that you follow the right trails, and don't get lost in the park.
  • Keep safe distance from the animals
  • Wear less bright clothes as it may distract the animals
Dont's
  • When on a safari tour, don't carry luggage, baggage, and any non-biodegradable products like plastic, bottle, metal foils, tin can etc.
  • Don't listen to music inside the park. The quieter you are, more is the possibility of your watching the wildlife.
  • Don't insist your drive on taking you to some of the track trails as this may hamper the daily activities of animals and the growth of the trees.
  • Don't carry any gun or pistol in the park
  • While on a safari tour, don't get down from your vehicle
  • Consumption of non-vegetarian food and alcohol is strictly not allowed inside the park
  • Do not smoke
  • Don't use flashlights when clicking animals as animal eyes are very sensitive
  • Do not litter inside the park
  • During winters carry sufficient warm clothes as the temperature in the evening and early moming may drop below freezing.
