Along with this, people also work in handloom and coir sectors for earning their daily bread and butter. Furthermore owing to its natural and traditional richness, Kasargod is bestowed with numerous tourist attractions like the dazzling rivers, sandy beaches, splendid hills, ancient forts and sacred shrines.

Fortresses being the main attraction of the place are included in the itinerary. The first stopover of the tour is the Bekal Fort, standing on 35 acres headland that runs into the Arabian Sea. It is among the largest and the best preserved forts of Kerala. The fort is complemented with a zigzag entrance and the trenches that border it stand as an evidence of the defense strategy of yester years. Further cosseted by the soothing music of the sea waves, the fort is highly appreciated for its surroundings and ambience.

Though ¾ of the fort has been drenched into the sea, yet it holds immense beauty and magnificence that allure the onlookers. Along with the fort, one can also visit the nearby Hanuman Temple and Muslim Mosque. These holy shrines hold great religious worth.

Later continue the drive to Kasargod. Check into a hotel or house boat on arrival. Enjoy an overnight stay at Kasargod.
