Madikeri Fort: This magnificent fort was built by Mudduraja during the 17th century and later rebuilt by Tipu Sultan in granite. It was then named Jaffarabad, which becomes one of the most popular attractions in Coorg. In the year 1812-1814, Lingarajendra Wodeyar renovated the palace, making its architecture worthy.

St. Mark's Church: St. Mark's Church was built by the East India Company in 1859 and later taken over by the Government of Madras. By Rail: Nearest railheads are at Hassan, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Kannur, and Thalassery, each of which is around 115 km away from Madikeri. Tourists can even catch trains from Mangalore and Mysore, approximately 140 km away from here. Regular buses & taxis connects Madikeri to these places.
