Madikeri Fort, Karnataka

Madikeri Fort: This magnificent fort was built by Mudduraja during the 17th century and later rebuilt by Tipu Sultan in granite. It was then named Jaffarabad, which becomes one of the most popular attractions in Coorg. In the year 1812-1814, Lingarajendra Wodeyar renovated the palace, making its architecture worthy.

Omkareshwara Temple: Built by the King Lingarajendra in the year 1820, Omkareshwara Temple reflects both Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture and is a one the famous attractions in Madikeri.

St. Mark's Church: St. Mark's Church was built by the East India Company in 1859 and later taken over by the Government of Madras. In 1971, Government of Karnataka took charge of the church and today it is a prime tourist destination in Madikeri. One can visit Madikeri Fort Museum, located in the same building as the Church.
