Heritage Tour of India by Train

Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival at Delhi International airport meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi - Jaisalmer, By overnight train (Train depart at 17:30 PM)Lal Quila, Delhi
After breakfast we will go for a guided tour of Old Delhi, the 17th century walled city of Shah Jahanabad, Visiting the great Jama Masjid, the principal mosque of Old Delhi. Built in the year 1656 AD by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, it is the largest & best known mosque in India.

 Further we will visit the monuments and historical places of New Delhi, here we will visit Raj Ghat, memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. It is a simple black marble platform that marks the spot of his cremation on 31 January 1948. Further we drive past India Gate, memorial built in the year 1931 to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War I & the Afghan Wars. The names of the soldiers who died in these wars are inscribed on the walls. President's House, the official residence of the President of India, built in the year 1931. Until 1950 it was known as Viceroy's House & served as the residence of the Governor - General of British India.

We will also visit Humayun's Tomb, memorial of Mughal Emperor Humayun. The complex is a World Heritage Site & the first example of this type of Mughal architecture in India. Qutub Minar, built in the year 1206 by Qutub-ud-din Aibek. It is the tallest (72m) brick minaret in the world, an important example of Indo - Islamic Architecture.
 Later in the evening transfer to the railway station to board the a/c sleeper train for Jaisalmer. Overnight stay on board.

Day 03: Arrive Jaisalmer (Train arrives at 11:15 AM)
Arrive Jaisalmer in the afternoon. Upon arrival at Jaisalmer railway station meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04: JaisalmerJaisalmer Fort
After breakfast we will have full day city tour of Jaisalmer. Visiting the mighty Jaislamer Fort - The fort was built by the king Rao Jaisal in 1156 AD, so its name derived. Jaisalmer Fort stands proudly amidst the golden stretches of the great Thar Desert, on Trikuta Hill, and has been the scene of many battles.

 Further we will visit Manak Chowk and Havelis of Jaisalmer also visit the Gadisar lake, and its colorful market. Later return to the hotel for fresh-n-up.

 In the evening we go for an excursion to Sam Sand Dunes to enjoy a camel safari and enjoy sun set at sand dune. Later in the evening leave for Jaisalmer. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
 Jaisalmer town in India was founded by Prince Jaisal Bhatti. It is located deep in the heart of the Thar desert. Centuries ago Jaisalmer's strategic position on the camel train routes brought it's townspeople enormous wealth that they spent on building intricately carved palaces and temples in golden-yellow sandstone.

These fortresses of Jaisalmer called as "Havelis of Jaisalmer" are like a mirage from the barren Thar Desert.
On either side of the narrow lanes are the sandstone havelis, with stone carvings, screen windows, delicate pavilions & balconies. These beautiful Havelis (Mansions) were built by Jaisalmer's wealthy merchants.

Day 05: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (Train depart at 17:15 PM and arrives at 22:25 PM)
Morning free for own activity, or one can opt for some local shopping. Later in the afternoon transfer to the railway station to board the train for Jodhpur.
 Upon arrival at Jodhpur railway station meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06: Jodhpur - UdaipurA Fort
After breakfast sightseeing tour of Jodhpur city. It is the largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur, Jodhpur stands at the edge of the Thar Desert. It was founded by Rao Jodha. The sightseeing in Jodhpur includes Mehrangarh Fort - one of the most impressive & formidable in the whole of fort-studded Rajasthan is situated on a high natural rock bluff and from which you can look down on the wonderful panorama of the bustling city, further visit to the Jaswant Thada - the Royal Cenotaphs.

Later in the afternoon drive Udaipur, en-route we will visit the Jain temple of Ranakpur. Further continue drive to Udaipur. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay hotel.

Day 07: Udaipur - Jaipur (Train depart at 22:20 PM)
Today we will go for a full day city sightseeing tour of the romantic Lake City of Udaipur. Udaipur famous for the stunning white marble Palace built on an island in the Lake Pichola. It was the former Palace of the Maharana and now converted to one of the most glamorous hotels in India. The tour will cover the magnificent City Palace, the Jagdish temple, the pleasure gardens and a drive around the other nearby lakes.

 The magnificent City Palace, which is simply enormous - an assemblance of not one but four separate palaces covering some four acres of area and exceeding all other palaces for colossal grandeur. Here you will marvel at rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colored glass windows and inlaid marble balconies; and the Peacock Courtyard.

 In the afternoon we will enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Pichola at sunset visiting the Jagmandir Island - in the middle of the Romantic Lake Pichola. It commands a magnificent view of the City Palace, Lake Palace and Sajjangarh Fort, on its own island, and it is where Prince Khurram was given refuge in the 17th century.
 After dinner transfer to the railway station to board the a/c sleeper train for Jaipur. Overnight stay on board.

Day 08: Arrive Jaipur (Train arrives at 06:00 AM) City Palace, Jaipur
Arrive Jaipur in the morning. Upon arrival at Jaipur railway station meets with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Early check in will be subject to availability.

 In the afternoon city sightseeing tour of Jaipur visiting the massive City Palace - It is located in the mid of this walled city will provide an idea about the farsightedness of the founder of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. He left behind a legacy of some of the most imposing and magnificent architecture in the city. The City palace is a blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture and the ex-royal family still lives in a part of the palace.  Further we will visit to Jantar Mantar (observatory), Palace of Winds, Birla temple. In the evening return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 09: Jaipur - Agra (Train depart at 15:20 PM and arrives at 21:15 PM)
After breakfast an excursion of Amer Fort ascend Fort on Elephants back Capital of Rajasthan Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1728 A.D. It is also called Pink City because most houses in old city are pink colored. The city is surrounded by thick wall 20 feet high and 9 feet wide with eight gates. Ajmeri gate and the Sanganeri gate in the south, Chandpole gate in west and the Ghat Darwaza in the east are the main gates. The city is surrounded by the hills except in the southwest. Fort and the temples can be seen on the hills.

 Later in the afternoon transfer to the railway station to board the train for Agra. Upon arrival at Agra railway station meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10: Agra - Varanasi (Train depart at 20:37)Taj Mahal, Agra
Today we will visit the famous Taj Mahal at dawn. Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial to his queen Mumtaz Mahal, made out of white marble took 22 years to complete (1630-1652 AD).
 After visit we will return to the hotel for fresh-n-up and breakfast. After breakfast we will visit the Agra fort, built by Akbar in 1565 as a military establishment. The Fort was made by red sandstone. During the reign of Shah Jahan it was partially converted into a palace.

 Further we will Itimad-ud-daulah's Tomb or Baby Taj, this exquisite marble tomb was made by Emperor Jahangir's queen, Nur Jahan , in the memory of her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg during 1622-1628 A.D. Built entirely in white marble and inlaid with semi-precious stones, this mausoleum on the bank of the Yamuna River, exhibits a b Persian influence.

 Late in the evening transfer to the railway station to board the train for Varanasi. Overnight stay on board.

Day 11: Arrive Varanasi (Train Arrives at 11:55 AM)
Arrive Varanasi in the morning. Upon arrival at Varanasi railway station meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 12: Varanasi Varanasi
Morning boat cruise at the river Ganges to observe the way of life of pilgrims by the Ghats. Later we will have an excursion to Sarnath. It enjoys the extraordinary privilege of Lord Buddha delivering his first sermon after attaining enlightenment 2500 years ago. It is about 10 km from Varanasi and holds a number of Buddhist sites that include the famous Dhamekh Stupa, the seat of the holy 'Buddha'. You can also visit the ruins of Dharmarajika Stupa and Mulagandhakuti Temple, where Lord Buddha is said to have rested and meditated while in Sarnath. The Ashoka Pillar built by the emperor Ashoka is a must see in Sarnath. The Lion Capital on top of this pillar is now the National Emblem of India and stands apart for its excellent artistry and carvings.

 In the evening visit aarti darshan (light offering) at river bank. After aarti visit return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 13: Varanasi - Kathmandu
Morning transfer to the airport to board the flight for Kathmandu the capital of Nepal. The  Kathmandu valley is the political and cultural heart of the Kingdom. The urban sprawl that makes up modern Kathmandu is in fact two cities, Patan and Kathmandu. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 14: Kathmandu Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu
Today after breakfast we will proceed for temple tour of Kathmandu visiting the Pashupatinath temple a UNESCO world heritage sites. This is the place where holy sadhus pray and cremations on the Bagmati River are carried out. It is one of the most  significant Hindu temple and oldest in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath Temple's existence dates back to 400 A.D. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga or holy symbol of Lord Shiva. Further we will visit the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal, the Boudhanath stupa, the UNESCO world heritage monument. The Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest in the world. The influx of large populations of refugees from Tibet has seen the construction of over 50 Tibetan Gompas around Boudhanath. This is the place where all devout Buddhists come for a pilgrimage.  Later return to Kathmandu for overnight stay.

Day 15: Kathmandu

Morning after breakfast we will go for an excursion to Patan, also known as Lalitpur. The city of beauty is separated from Kathmandu by Bagmati River and is the second largest town in the valley. The city is fragmented from other cities due to its substantive architectural ancient masterpieces. Here we will visit the Patan's central Durbar Square which is absolutely packed with temples: It’s an architectural center point with a far greater concentration of temples per sq. meter than in Kathmandu or Bhaktapur. Within the city also lies the Tibetan refugee center, home to most of the valley's Tibetan population.  While technically refugees, the Tibetans are some of the wealthiest people in the valley because of the carpet industry they operate.  For those looking to bring home a fine Tibetan carpet, this is the place to shop.

 While on our return we will visit the Swayambhunath the golden spire of the 5th-century Swayambhu stupa is adorned with a colorful fluttering of prayer flags; it crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley and offers fantastic views over the city of Kathmandu. Swayambhunath is one of the most recognizable symbols in Nepal and the painted eyes of Buddha watch all who ascend the worn stone steps.
 Later transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 16: Kathmandu - Delhi
Morning free to enjoy some local shopping in Kathmandu. Later in the afternoon transfer to the international airport to board the flight for Delhi. Upon arrival meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 17: Delhi - Departure
Transfer to the international airport on time to board the
