Badrinath Temple Opening Date 2024

Lord Badrinath will welcome the pilgrims to its divine sanctum from May 2024. The day was decided on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami at Raj Darbar followed by the ritual Gadu Ghada, the oil containing pitcher sent to the temple ahead of the opening of its gates. Lord Badrinath will leave for his journey from 12 May 2024. Closing date of the portal of Badrinath temple 2024 will be decide on Vijaya Dashami.

Brief Introduction of Badrinath Temple

Located in the chamoli district of Uttarakhand, tucked between Nar and Narayan ranges, Badrinath Temple is the most popular holy shrine of India. One of the CharDhams it is beautifully decked with lofty Neelkanth mountain peak in its backdrop. Badrinath holds a great spiritual value to Hindu devotees.

Pilgrims from across the world undertake arduous journey to reach the sacred shrine. Ambiance of Badrinath temple is one of a kind, how it has managed to look so gorgeous is still a puzzle. The temple’s present structure is said to have been built by the kings of Garhwal.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Badrinath (Narayan) who is also known as Badri Vishal. This sacred temple is also a home to the mythical bird Garuda, Lord Narayan’s vehicle. Temple has been the favourite spot of great sages like Kapila Muni, Rishi Gautam, Rishi Kashyap. Lord Narada is believed have attained salvation in Badrinath.

The name Badri originates from berry which means the place where berries grow in abundance. It is also said that Goddess Lakshmi took the form of a berry tree to shade lord Vishnu from sun during his penance.
