Valley of Flowers National Park in Uttarakhand Opens for Trekkers
Reckoned to be one of finest trekking destinations in India, Valley of Flowers opens for trekkers. Uttarakhand Government that considers Valley of Flowers as a way of reviving tourism in the state made the decision of re-opening the park from June 1, 2016.
The unfortunate flash flood of 2013 in Uttarakhand swept away the bridge connecting this 6-km-long and 2 km wide ‘U’ shaped valley. It is to be noted that Valley of Flowers is part of one of the biggest biosphere reserves in India, Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve and is known for its meadows of alpine flowers and the variety of flora.
