Travelling is fun and with your pet, it gets even better. Just imagine – dope Instagram selfies, nature walks, houseboat cruising, picnicking in hills and what not. Travelling with pets especially dogs is becoming popular in India, all thanks to those pet-friendly hotels in India. Today, taking your pet pooch to a holiday destination has become a lot easier than ever. That being said, I have compiled a list of top destinations for a holiday with your pet in India.

Manali: The Pine Palace

Manali- The Pine Palace

Far away from its image of being a backpacking and honeymoon destination in India, Manali is also a place where you can plan an amazing holiday with your dog. Set on the bank of River Beas, this beautiful township is known for its cool weather, snow-capped mountains and the natural bounties. The Pine Palace in Naggar (some 20 km from Manali) is the perfect getaway for you and your pet. This tranquil property offers respite to tourists escaping from the cacophony of the city life. And while you are here with your pet, you can go with him for nature walks or some playful time in the hills.

Kottayam: Eco Trails Houseboats

Eco Trails Houseboats, Kottayam

Undulating palms, placid backwaters, gorgeous waterfalls, light breeze whistling in your ears and the startling sunsets, Kottayam is one of the concealed solitaires of Kerala. Though Kottayam is not one of the most popular tourist destinations of Kerala, but the uniqueness of this place is no less than the likes of Alleppey and Munnar. Here in Kottayam, the Eco Trails Houseboats welcome you with your pup. They have good services to offer to you and your pet including the separate bedding and dishes. Apart from the cruising experience, you can also go on a picnic at a waterfall site with your dog. However, in my personal opinion, houseboat experience in the backwaters would be the best thing to do to make your pet vacation in Kottayam even more special.

Please Note: The houseboat only allows dogs; no other pets are allowed.
