Part of the Patkai hills range, they stretch across the Indo-Myanmar borders, and consist of two districts, East and West Jaintia Hills. There is lushness everywhere of course, but it is the overall landscape, which wins your heart. Complementing the beauty of this gorgeous landscape are man made structures like parks which are great for simply having a great time.

Among the tourist attractions in Jaintia Hills, it is Krang Suri Waterfalls which draws in a large number of visitors. With trees and creepers as its backdrop, it is a marvellous sight to come across. The small little village of Nartiang, located just a few kilometres off the Jowai city centre, is a must see tourist attraction in Jaintia, both for the ancient remnants of the Summer Palace of the erstwhile Jaintiapur Kings, and an old Durga Temple constructed in the 15th century AD.
