The dramatic wilderness of Corbett offers a perfect opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts to venture on a photography expedition. The early morning in Ramnagar will take you to Bijrani range where you get a chance to take beautiful photographs of birds mingling amid the morning mist. Later, our itinerary will guide you to Dhangarhi where an entire day will be spent capturing images of animals lingering amid the saal forest. The tour leader will make sure your photography skills progress thus, photo review sessions and improvements will also be a part of the package in order to help you learn. Our itinerary also includes a visit to crocodile pool in Corbett to catch an overview of the gharials and crocodiles. With early morning's natural light being perfect for snap shooting, a safari to Dhikala Chaur will offer attractive results for wildlife shots. On the last day of the tour, you will be taken for a short wildlife safari in Dhikala zone followed by the end of the tour in Ramnagar.
Itinerary
Arrival Ramnagar & Bijrani Jungle Safari
After arriving in Ramnagar, check into your hotel and freshen up. After a while, the photography tour will begin with a short introductory session. Later, you will be guided for a bird-watching tour within the vicinity of the park. The entire tour will be focused on some of the specialty-birds, after the tour, return to the room and rest. In the noon, you will be taken for a three-hour jeep safari to Bijrani range of Corbett where chances to sight tigers and elephants are highest. During the safari, you will be alloted time to practice targets to hone photography skills and traversing this tiger-habitat is start to our photographic expedition. After returning from the tour to the lodge in Ramnagar, we will have an interactive Chhaya Chitra session with our photography tour leader.
Corbett Jungle Safari
The next day, you will enter the Corbett gate of Dhangarhi to drive to Gairal; spend an entire day inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Dhangarhi is the biggest zones in Corbett and Gairal has a rest house set on the banks of the picturesque Ramganga river. The beautiful forest road offers plenty of wildlife sightseeing opportunities. After arriving Gairal, lunch will be served followed by relaxing rest before leaving for evening jeep safari. This tour will focus on the Grey-bellied and tiny Chestnut-headed Tesia, in addition, you may also sight the endangered Gharial Crocodile and tigers. Overnight stay in Gairal Forest Lodge.
Dhikala Zone Jungle Safari
On day 3, you will be driven to Dhikala, another prominent Corbett zones to sightsee wild animals. As we drive towards Dhikala, we will look for birds like yellow-bellied fantail flycatcher, red-billed leiothrix and the dollar bird. We will also visit Crocodile Pool in Corbett where excellent sight of the gharials and crocodiles can be seen. You may also sight other animals like tuskers, tigers and tawny fishing owl. After reaching Dhikala, check-in and later go for a safari in the famous Dhikala Chaur which offers a great place to photograph elephants and hog deer. In the evening, have a Chitra Tantra session where your photography will be reviewed and discussed about improvements, digital post-production processing techniques will also be a part of the discussion.
Morning and Afternoon Safaris and Overnight in Dhikala
On day 4, the morning and evening will be spent by going on a safari in the Dhikala Chaur, roaming through the Sambar Road and Khinnanauli in search for wild animals like jackals, collared falconets, vultures, owls, lesser and Pallas' fishing eagles. Dhikala being a biodiversity hotspot, it seldom disappoints the wildlife fanatics, after the tour, head back for a scrumptious supper. You will be entertained and educated through a Charchaaloka session facilitated by the team leader. Overnight at Dhikala.
Dhikala Safari & Departure
The last day of the safari, you will be taken around Dhikala for a short tour later after lunch, we will drive to Dhangarhi that traverse lovely landscape and wilderness of Uttarakhand. After arriving in Ramnagar continue your onward journey ‘home’ by the convenient mode of transport.
