The indisputable tiger territory of Maharashtra, Chikhaldara is all set to witness the grand tourism festival, which will commence from 12th February 2017. The festival was introduced some eight years back but was revived a year back, keeping in mind the potential it has to general revenue. During this weeklong festival, from 12th February to 18th February, special programs that best define the culture of Chikhaldara will take place. Provisions will be also made for adventure activities like parasailing, rappelling, and trekking. The food festival will be the highlight of the event. How to Reach

Located at an altitude of 1,088 meters above the sea level, Chikhaldara is a tiger’s territory that is closest to Amravati. You can reach here by opting for any mode of transports. See below for more details:

By Airways: The nearest airport is in Nagpur – Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, which is 230 kilometer from Chikhaldara. From the airport, buses, and taxis are easily available.

By Railways: Mostly tourists prefer to travel by train as its is the most comfortable mode of transport.

By Roadways: If you love the idea of traveling by road, it would be good to take a bus to reach Chikhaldara. If traveling from North Maharashtra, the distance will be more than 700 kilometers; which means that you will have to break your journey in two days. Many luxury buses ply on the Mumbai – Aurangabad – Nagpur highway. The best season to visit Chikhaldara is from October to June.
