Drass Travel Guide

Situated at an elevation of 10,990 ft. in the Kargil district of North Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir, Drass is considered to be the second coldest inhabited place on earth. The valley, sitting on the foot of ‘Zoji-La’ pass is often dubbed as ‘Gateway to Ladakh’ and is blessed with a stupendous scenic beauty which can captivate heart and soul of every traveller in just a matter of few seconds. Since then, the area has been under strict surveillance of the Indian Army and anyone travelling here needs to register himself at the Drass checkpoint with a valid photo identity proof and a copy of passport and visa, in case the person is not of the Indian nationality.
