One of the high-altitude lakes in India, sitting in the lap of Garhwal Himalayas in the Kullu region, Lake Bhrigu is associated with the Sage Bhrig who is believed to have meditated on the banks of this serene lake many thousands of years back. Not a very challenging trek, the Bhrigu Lake trek can be ventured on to by even the beginners provided their physical fitness and stamina is up to the mark. Mesmerizing views of the 'Deo Tibba', 'Hanuman Tibba' and 'Seven Sister' peaks in the Pir-Panjal ranges, virgin forests of cedar and silver oak, vast expanses of green pasture lands, multi-hued carpets of alpine flowers and shimmering water streams along the trails make your trekking experience even more fun and overwhelming. An occasional rendezvous with some of the wildlife species including the Snow Cocks, Pheasants and Himalayan Monal adds to the charm of this beautiful journey.

Sitting at an altitude of 14,000 ft. above sea level, the Bhrigu Lake trek starts from the picturesque village of Gulaba taking you through wild forest trails, charming old villages and vast stretches of fruit orchards, finally ending at the Vashisht Village. One of the most beautiful treks in the Manali region, Bhrigu Lake trek, undoubtedly, gives you the most satisfying trekking experiences of your lifetime.
The Bhrigu Lake trek can be commenced from Mid-May to October but, the ideal time is either before June or after July-August, these being the monsoon months when the probability of landslides and other natural calamities is quite high.
The Bhrigu Lake sits amidst Pir-Panjal ranges of the Garhwal Himalayas, located east of Rohtang Pass in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The lake lies at a distance of 6 km. from Gulaba (commencing point of the trek), a picturesque village 22 km. from Manali and a little short of Rohtang Pass. According to the legends, the bank of Bhrigu Lake was once the meditation point of Bhrigh Rishi. It is also believed that many gods of the Kullu Valley took a holy dip in the sacred water, and that is why the lake is considered sacred by the Hindus and many devotees. On the Bhrigu valley trek, trekkers will be rewarded with the tremendous view of the mountains.
By Air: The nearest airport to Manali is at Kullu, also known as Bhuntar airport. Flights from Delhi and Chandigarh regularly ply to Kullu, from where taxis and buses can be booked to reach Manali. Taxi can be further hired up till Gulaba.
By Rail: Nearest railway station to Manali is at Chandigarh, from thereon, chartered taxis and buses can be hired to Manali and then, a taxi up to Gulaba.
By Road: Many regular, Volvo and state run buses ply directly from New Delhi and Chandigarh to Manali. From Manali, private or shared taxis can be hired to reach Gulaba.

Today in the evening, we will leave from Delhi to Manali by AC Volvo coach. An overnight Volvo journey.
On arrival in Manali in the morning, meet our representative who will be there to transfer you to your already booked hotel in Manali. The rest of the day is free at leisure where in you can visit Hadimba Devi Temple, old Manali, Tibetan Monastery and the mall. An overnight stay in the hotel.
We all meet at the Ram Bagh Chowk near the Mall road. Just about 20 minutes head out the village of Kulang is positioned, from where our trek commences. As we depart from the beautiful valley, behind we get picturesque views of Manali and the forest all around. We proceed to Moji Dugh, on an ongoing trail, through the forests of Deodar, Oak and Pine. Our first camping site is in an open space in this amazing forest.
Today, we will commence our trek after breakfast. The trail ascends progressively and will take you on the top of the tree line. See spectacular views of the striking Manali valley and astonishing peaks like Shikharbeh, Hanuman Tibba, and Makarbeh among others. We will camp in the towering altitude meadow of Theli. Covered with all over with snow ahead of schedule in the season it is like a widespread blanket of blossoming wild flowers as the spring arrives.
The trail ascends gradually before a minuscule, steep climb to the lake. Walk on to the expansive Bhrigu ridge and get amazing panoramic perspective of the Kalihani Pass, Makarbeh, Hanuman Peak, Shakarbeh, and the Manali pass to the West, the Friendship, the Rohtang ridge to the north, Shitidhar Massif to the North - West and Hampta to the East.
The last day of the trail is a steep descent through the deodar, chestnut and pine forests into the village of Vashisht. It is known for the hot water springs; it is the perfect final destination to end the trek with relaxing bath for long. By the evening, we head back to Manali where the trek ends.
The day is free at leisure. In the evening, we will drive to Delhi by AC Volvo coach. An overnight Volvo journey.
On arrival in Delhi in the morning, our representative will transfer you to your hotel for relaxation. In the evening, we will drive you to the International Airport to catch the flight for onward destination.

You should book Bhrigu Lake trekking two months in advance so that you get ample amount of time to prepare well for the trek.
There will be pony/porter that will carry your backpack while on trek; you only need to carry your small knapsack.
Once you book your trek with us we will give you a list of things to carry and the total weight should not cross 12 Kgs.
Our pick up and drop point for Bhrigu Lake Trek is Delhi (Janpath/RK Ashram Metro Station/Majnu Ka Tila). You can board Bus from these bus stops to Manali. At Manali our guide will pick you from train station and then from there your tour will start.
We always have an experience trekking guide who leads the trek.

Bhrigu Lake trek is a easy trek with a maximum altitude of 14000ft (4268m) minimum age required is 08 years.
In the month of July, August and September the temperature during the trek can go as low as 8 Degree Celsius during the night and it can rain in Lower Mountain but not in higher mountains.
We plan our treks in such a way that after 6-7 hours of trekking we reach next camp around lunch time and normally trek a distance of 10 to 16 Kms.
If we have to extend the trek because of the reasons which is beyond our control then additional charges will be applied for hotel stay and food.
Diamox is indeed helpful when you have little time for acclimatization but we strongly advise to consult the doctor before taking Diamox.

Yes, it's completely safe for drinking and even for cooking, but, to be on the safer side we always carry filters and chlorine tablets
Most of the Himalayan roads towards the trek are in bad shape, so a vehicle with high ground clearance like Mahindra Bolero, Tata Sumo, Scorpio, Max, Tempo Traveller, etc. are used for transportation.
We guarantee that even if that there will be only one trekker, we will head out on that particular date.
Our trek leaders are certified mountaineers with knowledge of first aid in the wilderness and they carry necessary first aid medicine kit. At each camp, they assess your condition and can take appropriate action in case a rescue is required. In the case of the rescue, all the additional cost will be borne by the trekker.
