Situated in a north of the ancient Buddhist town of the Boudhanath is the Kopan Hill which houses Kopan Monastery. It is the scenic landscape just outside Kathmandu where the mystic monastery is run and managed by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The place popular among foreign tourists for its meditation retreats and various other courses. Visitors are more than welcome to explore the monastery and take part in morning meditation sessions. The air around monastery is clean and the view is simply magical. The holy place houses over 350 monks, lamas, teachers as well as workers. The monks who reside here are aged between seven to sixty years and belong to the different regions of Tibet and Nepal. This Tibetan Buddhist Monastery holds a lot of cultural value and hence visiting this place while one is exploring Nepal and Kathmandu is a must.
