Chittorgarh Fort, Rajasthan

The legend goes that in 1303 when Raja Ratan Singh lost the battle against Alauddin Khilji, the women of Chittorgarh committed Jauhar or self-immolation and leading it was King’s favourite queen Padmavati. Padmini as she is also called is said to be famous for her beauty and it is believed that king really loved her. Even today, those who know about this tiny love story can see Chittorgarh from different perspective.
