Well, the travel guide of Dehradun in Uttarakhand now adds one more attraction to visit that is Snake Park located inside Dehradun Zoo, the much-celebrated kids-friendly tourist attraction. It is the first Snake Park in Uttarakhand which was inaugurated by Forest Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat on 02 January 2020.
What to expect when visiting the Snake Park?
Tourists visiting the Snake Park in Dehradun will get an opportunity to witness several species of snakes including Burmese Python, Rock Python, Reticulated Python, Ball Python, King Cobra, Indian Snake, Russell, Common Sendboa, Dhaman and more. Besides, several species of snakes are also brought from Chennai and Bangalore and are under the supervision of experts as said by the park’s director, PK Patro.
Apart from this, tourists will also be able to witness the Iguana species of lizard found in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Carribean.
The Training of Employees in Snake Park
Snake charmers from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh were called to train the employees of the Snake Park for two months. The employees are so well trained now and is clearly reflected in the way they are taking care of the poisonous cobra along with other snakes without any fear.
What Else Travellers Can See?
Along with the Snake Park, Dr. Rawat even inaugurated the Cactus Park in Dehradun Zoo and talked about the various species of cactus placed in the park. These cactus are not only the ones found in India but are brought from other parts of the world.
